Streamside Restoration
Course Description
This two-day applied workshop can be taken on its own or as a complement to ‘Bioengineering’. This course will take participants on a journey through the best practices of streambank restoration, soil bioengineering, and erosion control using hands-on training with living, local plant materials and practical, tried-and-tested techniques. You will learn how to get plants to do the hard work for you by using certain species to kick-start successional processes, stabilizing slopes by seeding them with plant pioneers, and more. You will also gain an understanding of how to use natural restorative processes to enrich and assist your efforts.
